RHINOPLASTY

For the most natural-looking nose to suit your face shape.
The shape of the nose is one of the most defining features of a face, and an elegant nose can often be the key to facial balance and harmony. Due to the nose’s central placement and importance in the face, people who dislike the shape of their nose often suffer from a lack of confidence and self-esteem. The aim of rhinoplasty, or a ‘nose job’, is to reshape the nose in order to perfectly complement the proportions of the face.
Dr Tiryaki reshapes and refines for a natural-looking nose that perfectly complements your face shape.
I had rhinoplasty surgery about a year ago. He is literally changed my life. He was so kind and of course very professional. I was nervous about the surgery but he relaxed me so well. Tunc Tiryaki is the best doctor I’ve ever known. Thank you for making me felling like this.

WHAT IS RHINOPLASTY?
Depending on the shape of the nose and the face, the nose can be restructured in several different ways for the best possible outcome.
For example, a wide nose might be narrowed and reshaped,
while a high or bumpy nose bridge can be rasped for an effect of a subtle
but satisfying change. Often, a gentle reduction in the size of a nasal hump is enough to refine the entire appearance of the nose.

After a comprehensive and detailed discussion with you,

How is a Rhinoplasty performed?
While the patient is under general anaesthesia, Dr Tiryaki will inject a local anaesthetic in order to reduce bleeding and postoperative pain. He will then make a small incision at the inferior part of the columella, which is the band of tissue that separates the nostrils. Through this incision, the cartilage and nasal bones can be reshaped according to the patient’s individual needs. Once the desired shape is achieved, the incision is closed with absorbable sutures and a splint is applied.
Rhinoplasty is usually less than 120 minutes. Should the patient have any breathing problems due to a deviated septum or swollen turbinates (conchae) , Dr Tiryaki can also perform a septoplasty to resolve these issues. The procedure does not necessitate an overnight stay at the hospital, and most patients experience little to no pain or discomfort.
Who is a good candidate for rhinoplasty surgery?
Rhinoplasty adjusts the structure of the bone and cartilage and reshapes the nose tip to create a more balanced, elegant nose. In the hands of an experienced surgeon like Dr Tiryaki, a rhinoplasty procedure can improve the aesthetic harmony of the entire face. Anyone who is concerned about the shape of the entire nose or has particular concerns about the bony part of the nose is an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. For patients who are exclusively concerned with the shape of the nose tip, a nose suspension or tip plasty may be more suitable.
Rhinoplasty is also ideal for anyone with breathing issues caused by a deviated septum or swollen turbinates, (conchae) as these issues can be resolved alongside any aesthetic improvements.
Is it possible to see in advance how the nose will look
when the procedure is complete?
Dr. Tiryaki uses 3D photography during the consultation process to design a natural-looking nose,
allowing the patient to see an accurate visual prediction of the final results.
How long is the recovery time for a rhinoplasty?
The patient may return home the same day. The tiny nasal sponge packs are removed a day after surgery,
and the thermoplastic splint on the nose is removed after one week, after which a lighter dressing is applied. As
patients experience minimal discomfort, most daily activities can be resumed after about three to four days. Bruises
and swelling will resolve after one to two weeks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As with all surgical procedures, patients must abstain from taking blood thinners and limit both alcohol consumption and smoking as much as possible. Ideally, a patient should abstain entirely from smoking and taking blood thinners in the three weeks preceding surgery. The doctor must be informed in advance of any cold sores or acne on the nose.
The procedure usually takes up to 120 minutes and is performed under general anaesthesia. You can return home the same day.
The patient may return home and shower after a few hours. Most patients are able to return to their daily activities in one to two weeks. You should avoid direct sunlight as much as possible for the first two weeks after surgery. Taking a beach holiday is perfectly safe once the bruises have disappeared, but we recommend the use of high-SPF sunscreen to protect the skin. Glasses should not be worn until three months after the operation, and special care should be taken to avoid any impact or pressure on the nose in the six months following the operation. As with all surgical procedures, you should stop smoking for the duration of the two weeks following the operation, and you should not participate in any activities that will increase blood pressure.
The procedure is not painful. The silicone nasal splints worn for the first one to two days after the operation may cause minimal discomfort, which will resolve once the splints are removed.
Rhinoplasty is usually performed through a small incision on the underside of the nose, between the nostrils. Due to its size and location, the scar is rarely visible. The suture line will fade and eventually disappear completely.
Old rhinoplasty techniques sometimes resulted in complications such as a drooping or collapsed nose tip. These complications are extremely rare in modern rhinoplasty. As long as the patient avoids any impact on the tip of the nose during the healing period, the tip will not collapse.
The change in the tip of the nose will be immediately visible although it will look over lifted for a few weeks. Once the plaster is removed, about a week later, the nose’s general appearance will become more evident, and the angle from profile will slowly come back to normal as the swelling reside. The final results should be seen three to six months after the operation, once the oedema has fully resolved. The tissues of the nose will continue healing for a year after surgery.
