BOTOX

Reduce the telltale signs of facial ageing in 10–15 minutes

Wrinkles, fine lines, and creases on the face, particularly on the forehead and around the eyes, are a concern for many patients who are hoping to reduce the appearance of ageing. Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a powerful muscle relaxant that can temporarily limit local muscle movement, effectively smoothing out the wrinkles and fine lines caused by the contraction of the mimic muscles in the face.  Botox is an FDA-approved product that has been used for many years in the treatment of various medical conditions, and has been safely applied for aesthetic purposes for the last 10 years.

How is a Botox treatment performed?

Before beginning Botox therapy, Dr Tiryaki applies a topical anaesthetic such as ice or anaesthetic cream to the treatment area. This ensures that the patient experiences no pain during the procedure. Using a thin syringe, the Botox is then injected into the skin or muscles. Dr Tiryaki will calculate the appropriate dosage, which depends on the specific area being treated.

The treatment process takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

How long is the recovery time for Botox treatment?

Patients may experience slight redness or red spots at the injection sites. This redness will disappear within one or two hours.

Botox does not cause any pain, aches, oedema, or bruising. You can return to your daily life shortly after treatment

How often should Botox treatment be repeated?

Botox is not permanent, and most patients opt for regular treatments. On average, patients repeat Botox treatment every four to six months,

as this is how long the effects of Botox generally last. If performed regularly, Botox treatment can train the muscles to contract less frequently,

creating a more long-lasting effect and allowing patients to wait longer between treatments. Treatment frequency is best decided by the patient,

who can individually determine when they wish to refresh their appearance.

When will the effects of Botox become apparent?

The effects of the Botox treatment will begin to be visible after about three to seven days, but the results will be more obvious after 10 to 14 days.

Patients should expect the effects to last for four to six months.

Does Botox have any side effects?

Applied correctly by a trained specialist, Botox has no side effects. This treatment is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
