What Is Endoscopic Tummy Tuck?

Endoscopic Tummy Tuck is also a scarless tummy tuck performed through a small incision that stretches the abdominal muscles from the inside restoring the original shape and form of the abdomen without removing any skin.

An endoscopic tummy tuck is generally performed on younger patients who have been through a single pregnancy, have good skin elasticity, but suffer from loose abdominal muscles.

Mr Tiryaki creates a type of inner muscular corset, tightening up the abdominal muscles and flattening the belly with the endoscopic tummy tuck also known as a scarless tummy tuck.

How is a Endoscopic Tummy Tuck performed?

During an endoscopic tummy tuck, Mr Tiryaki uses an endoscope to enter the abdomen and narrow the abdominal wall. Through just a tiny incision, the muscles inside can be pulled together, towards the midline, creating a type of inner corset that restores the muscles and narrows the belly. The incision is located on the lower abdomen, near the usual location for a caesarean section, and is only about two centimetres in length. The procedure does not result in a scar.

  • You stay in the hospital for one night and can return back to normal in around a week.
  • This operation is performed under general anaesthesia.
  • You should wear a compression garment for 3 weeks.
  • You can do light exercise like walking shortly after the operation, however you should not do any heavy exercise within six weeks following the operation.
  • The results of the operation are permanent, however, further pregnancies or excessive weight change will affect the permanent nature of the operation.
  • The belly button can be replaced; however, it will look same.
  • You can get pregnant one year after the operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

As with all surgical procedures, patients must abstain from taking blood thinners and limit both alcohol consumption and smoking as much as possible. Ideally, a patient should abstain entirely from smoking and drinking alcohol in the last couple of days preceding surgery.

The procedure usually takes around 90 minutes and is performed under general anaesthesia. You should expect to stay in the hospital overnight.

The patient will be fitted with a compression garment, which must be worn for three weeks. Light exercise, like walking, can be done immediately after surgery, but you should not do any heavy exercise for six weeks. Patients can resume most daily activities after about a week. As with all surgical procedures, you should stop smoking for the duration of the two weeks following the operation, and you should not participate in any activities that will increase blood pressure.

Patients should ideally wait a year before getting pregnant. Patients should keep in mind that any further pregnancies are likely to affect the permanence of the surgical results.

For patients who maintain a steady weight, the results are permanent. Excessive weight gain, weight loss, or pregnancy are all likely to affect the shape of the abdomen. Exercise that strengthens the abdominal muscles will help maintain the results.

Since the surgery is performed through a small incision, neither the shape nor the placement of the belly button will change.

Endoscopic tummy tucks are ideal for patients who have loosened abdominal muscles but good skin elasticity. Skin elasticity, rather than age, is therefore the most important factor in determining the suitability of the operation. For patients who have loose or sagging skin on the abdomen that needs to be removed, abdominoplasty surgery is the preferred treatment.

With appropriate planning, certain patients can combine an endoscopic tummy tuck with liposuction. Mr Tiryaki can advise you as to whether you are a suitable candidate for a combined operation. An endoscopic tummy tuck can also be combined with other operations at the discretion of Mr Tiryaki.
